Empowering Communities Through Manufacturing

From empowering rural women to building a globally recognized garment manufacturing enterprise.

2007 – Foundation & Social Commitment

In 2007, following the closure of the Farmers’ Cooperative Spinning Mill in Sangola Taluka, District Solapur, several women lost their primary source of employment and were left dependent solely on agriculture. Recognizing the socio-economic impact of this shutdown, Mr. R. A. Rupnar, with the support and guidance of Late Hon. MLA Mr. Ganpatrao Deshmukh, initiated a structured garment manufacturing initiative under the name Amit Garments within the training hall of the Farmers’ Spinning Mill.

The initiative was designed to create sustainable employment opportunities for local women while building a skilled garment workforce in the region. Initially, 30 to 40 women underwent systematic garment manufacturing training, and selected candidates were sent to Bangalore for advanced skill development at the company’s expense.
